Materials and coatings for bus bodies

   The material of bus body skeleton is mainly steel or aluminum profile. The body skin material is mainly made of steel plate, galvanized steel plate, alloy aluminum plate, engineering plastics and glass fiber reinforced plastics; the body side skin is welded by the tensile prestressed group welding process or the tensile prestressed adhesive welding process. The arc surface and the flat surface are welded or glued. The front and rear walls of the passenger car, wheel guards, luggage compartment doors, bumpers and other materials are made of fiberglass. The application of FRP skins on passenger cars replaces traditional steel skins, reduces welding deformation, reduces weight, and reduces costs, which is beneficial to type change and mass production, especially in mid- to high-end passenger cars.
   In order to meet the needs of passenger cars of different levels and adapt to the coating of diverse body materials, the application and development speed of passenger car paints has been accelerated. In Europe and the United States with strict environmental regulations, passenger car coatings developed low-VOC (volatile organic compound) water-based paint and coating equipment earlier, and have been successfully used on the production line in large quantities, and started to study new paint applications. Waterborne coatings have reached the level of spray application in Germany and Japan. Powder coatings have been applied to passenger car parts, but they also face problems such as coating thinning. 2K-High solids low-temperature curing coatings include primers, intermediate coatings, and topcoats, in various passenger cars. Especially the application of high-end luxury buses is very extensive.
          The body of the passenger car is made of galvanized steel sheet, aluminum sheet, aluminum profile, glass fiber reinforced plastic, etc. instead of ordinary steel sheet, and is equipped with special primer for galvanized sheet and aluminum sheet. The corrosion resistance of the painted surface can also reduce the body weight.
